Hydraulic Workover Services
Tecon currently owns six (6) Hydraulic Workover Units. Five (5) HWUs are presently in Nigeria - 225K HR; 340K ISS; 340K HR and 460K ISS x2. The sixth unit is on standby in the Republique of Congo - PNR.
The first 225K Unit commissioned in October 1999 is named NIGERBLOSSOM 1. It has a pull capacity of 225,000 pounds and a maximum snub capacity of 112,500 pounds.
A second 460K Unit has been commissioned and deployed for snubbing operations . This unit, which has potential maximum, pull capacity of 460,000 pounds and maximum snub capacity of 230,000 pounds, is named TECONHYDRASTAR II. It is equipped with a power rotary table with maximum torque of 20,000 ft/lbs.
A third 340K HR Unit has been commissioned and deployed for snubbing operations . This unit, which has potential maximum, pull capacity of 340,000 pounds and maximum snub capacity of 170,000 pounds, is named "JJ Henry". It is equipped with a power rotary table with maximum torque of 180,000 ft/lbs.
A fourth 340K ISS Unit has been commissioned and deployed for snubbing operations . This unit, which has potential maximum, pull capacity of 340,000 pounds and maximum snub capacity of 180,000 pounds, is named "Jack Hardy". It is equipped with a power rotary table with maximum torque of 22,000 ft/lbs.
A fifth 340K ISS Unit has been commissioned and deployed for snubbing operations . This unit, which has potential maximum, pull capacity of 340,000 pounds and maximum snub capacity of 1780,000 pounds, is named "JJ Henry-ISS". It is equipped with a power rotary table with maximum torque of 22,000 ft/lbs.
A sixth 460K ISS Unit has been bought and in the country. This unit, which has potential maximum, pull capacity of 340,000 pounds and maximum snub capacity of 230,000 pounds, has not been commissioned for operations. It is equipped with a power rotary table with maximum torque of 30,000 ft/lbs.

A barge is a flat-bottomed boat, built mainly for river and canal transport of heavy goods. Some barges are not self-propelled and need to be towed or pushed by towboats. Canal barges, towed by draft animals on an adjacent towpath, contended with the railway in the early industrial revolution, but were outcompeted in the carriage of high-value items due to the higher speed, falling costs, and route flexibility of rail.
OCTG Procurement, Storage & Sales
Oil country tubular goods (OCTG) is a family of seamless rolled products consisting of drill pipe, casing and tubing subjected to loading conditions according to their specific application.
Drill pipe is heavy seamless tube that rotates the drill bit and circulates drilling fluid. Pipe segments 30 ft (9m) long are coupled with tool joints. Drill pipe is simultaneously subjected to high torque by drilling, axial tension by its dead weight, and internal pressure by purging of drilling fluid. Additionally, alternating bending loads due to non-vertical or deflected drilling may be superimposed on these basic loading patterns. Casing pipe lines the borehole. It is subject to axial tension by its dead weight, internal pressure by fluid purging, and external pressure by surrounding rock formations. Casing is particularly exposed to axial tension and internal pressure by the pumped oil or gas emulsion. Tubing is pipe through which the oil or gas is transported from the wellbore. Tubing segments are generally around 30 ft [9m] long with a threaded connection on each end.
Jar Rentals & Service Center Operations
A drilling jar is constructed to be able to assimilate the vibrations and rotations of loading that is associated with drilling activities. These jars can be used for repeated operations, and they can be reset by string manipulation. The effectiveness of a drilling jar is determined by the rapidity of weight thrust into the jars. When jarring without a compounder or accelerator you rely only on pipe stretch to lift the drill collars upwards after the jar releases to create the upwards impact in the jar. This accelerated upward movement will often be reduced by the friction of the working string along the sides of the well bore, reducing the speed of upwards movement of the drill collars which impact into the jar. At shallow depths jar impact is not achieved because of lack of pipe stretch in the working string.
